Do I need to pay any charges before you collect my motorcycle?

Under no circumstances do we charge any amount before collection.

What if I don’t know the exact model of my bike?

We buy almost all makes and models. However, there are some makes and models we do not have experience with, so we may have to take some basic details and complete some homework. Please do not guess the nearest model to your bike to obtain a price, call or email us with your registration number and we’ll do the rest.

I do not have a V5 registration document?

For us to buy your bike, we do need your original V5 document presently in your name. If you do not have one you can obtain a new document by filling in form V62 which you can download from the DVLA or pick up from any Post Office. The completed form and appropriate fee should be sent to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AR. A new document will then be issued to you in about 3 - 4 weeks. Until you have this we cannot proceed with the transaction. You will be required to revalue your bike at this time.

What happens if I inaccurately describe my bike?

If your on-line or telephone appraisal does not match our collection driver's appraisal, we will reduce the purchase price accordingly. This will either be deducted from the balance that we transfer into your bank account or if you have opted for cash deducted from the total on collection. Any deductions from the originally agreed purchase price will be fair and reflect the change in condition.

Will you collect my bike for free?

If your bike is valued by us at £400 or more, we will endeavour to collect your bike at your convenience free of charge from anywhere within mainland England, Scotland or Wales; there are no up-front charges, and no administration charges before or after.

Do you purchase the bike outright?

Yes, all bikes are purchased outright, we do not do sale or return.

Do I need to be in when the bike is collected?

No, but if we discover undisclosed damage or faults with the bike we will need to talk to you before we proceed with the purchase, bikes can be collected from a third party with prior consent.

Can I deliver the bike to you?

Yes. If you deliver your bike to us at our head office in Hampshire we’ll buy you lunch or dinner at the local Poachers pub!

Will you buy an import?

Depends on the bike, please contact info@WeWantYourMotorcycle.com with details of your bike.

How and when will I receive my money?

The fastest, easiest and most secure way to pay you is through an electronic transfer from our account to yours. There is no charge for this service and in all collections, we make the transfer whilst the driver is at your collection address. You will receive an email from WeWantYourMotorcycle.com confirming that payment has left our account and has been sent to your bank. If you would prefer to receive a cheque from us you will have the opportunity to tell us when we contact you.

Please note that if you do choose to receive a cheque, you must ensure that you have a debit or credit card available on collection just in case you have missed some damage when describing your bike.

How do you assess the offer price?

Mainly through our knowledge of the market in conjunction with price guides and trends. We will then assess the condition of the bike and any extras that might have been fitted and offer you a price. Our service is not an automated service that works on a preset computer code, its human beings with biking knowledge and a genuine desire to buy your bike!

Is the price you offer me for my bike a final price?

In most cases, yes. The more information you give us upfront the more accurate the price we give you will be.

However, if there are exceptional circumstances that were unknown when we made the original offer, we will adapt the price to take these circumstances into account (up or down). The amount we offer represents the best price we can offer on your bike with the information we have been provided. Therefore, it is feasible for the amount to go up as well as down when more information becomes available to us.

How long will it take between a sale and collection?

This really depends on a couple of factors, such as distance to travel and your availability. Our aim is to collect within 7 days of agreeing the price but we are aware people have work commitments so this might not always be possible.

If you need the bike collected asap please tell us this when calling or entering your details online for a price.

Do you collect from anywhere in the UK?

We will collect from anywhere on the UK mainland free of charge.

What happens if I need to change the plans about collection?

Simply call us as soon as you can, at least 24 hours beforehand.  If the driver is on route to your address you could be liable to a cancellation charge.

Cancellation charges are agreed in advance at the point of accepting our offer to purchase your bike.
